It was meant to be the first Disney+/Marvel series but covid delays meant that WandaVision was the first out of the proverbial gate. But while WandaVision has been off-beat and quirky, it certainly looks like The Falcon and the Winter Solider will be mining a more traditional seam for the MCU. The trailer screened as a commercial at the Super Bowl LV on Suynday night certainly played up the buddy-movie and action quotient as the two heirs to the Captain America legacy took on the bad guys – and perhaps each other – to prove who’s the better hero to keep Steve Rogers dream alive.
Look closely at the preview of the six-part series and there also the return of Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter, Daniel Brüh’s Zemo and Bosch‘s Amy Aquilo as a frustrated mediator.
Many people though there’d be a slew of new Marvel/Disney trailers (even in a year devoid of cinema product) but despite plenty of fakes around the internet, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was their main entry…no sign of fresh information on The Eternals, Spider-man or Black Widow.
The series begins on Friday 19th March on Disney+
