Yes, it’s finally here. After a very grainy, incomplete version of the Spider-man: No Way Home trailer was glimpsed across the interwebs this weekend (and SONY and Marvel made swift attempts to curtail its spread) it was only a matter of time before the proper version made its debut. After a whole slew of amusing memes (many of which wondered if Scarlett Johansson was the culprit), the real deal is now here and gives a better idea of what to expect from the film.
Those who stayed through the credits of the previous Spider-man entry, Far From Home, know that the big twist was that though Peter Parker saved the day, he was outed by Mysterio and now the whole world knows he’s really Spiderman. The trailer shows us that, unable to escape attention and judgement, Peter decides to seek the help of Doctor Strange, wondering if there’s a magic way to erase the memory of his secret identity from everyone’s mind. It turns out that there is, but the very attempt to conjure such a spell could spell disaster. But Peter is desperate and Strange agrees to try…. but at what cost to the multiverse?
There’s some glimpses of all old enemies in the trailer (there’s Green Goblin pumpkin bomb and the return of Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus… but, so far, there’s no sign of rumoured cameos from the likes of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Spider-man: No Way Home finally arrives on screens on 17th December 2021…
