Crash & Cary: Bond gets new director and 2020 release…

Pencil in Valentine's Day 2020 as the date for 007's next mission...

Cary Joji Fukunaga who rose to prominence after directing the first series of HBO‘s acclaimed True Detective and the 2015 Idris Elba movie, Beasts of No Nation,  is the man who will now be steering the next James Bond film. Danny Boyle left the production earlier this month citing creative differences and a replacement was being sort to make sure the production was not overtly delayed. With a new script in the works and pre-production underway, the as-yet-untitled ‘Bond 25‘ will actually go before the cameras in March and is now scheduled to open just a couple of months on from its previous November 2019 date – now fon Valentine’s Day 2020.

Fukunaga, whose other credits include Wuthering Heights and, most recently this month’s surreal sf series Maniac for  Netflix, will be the first American to direct a chapter of the franchise and the movie will be the fifth (and likely be the last) to feature Daniel Craig who has stated his desire to move on.
