RIP: Lance Reddick (veteran actor and voice performer)

The veteran film, tv and voice actor, soon to be seen in 'John Wick 4', has died at the age of only 60....

In sad and surprising news, word comes that veteran actor Lance Reddick has died. His publicist confirmed that the 60 year old actor was found at his home in Studio City on Friday and it appears he passed from natural causes.

The actor – often demonstrating his considerable physical and imposing presence doubled with a memorable gravelly and no-nonsense voice – was also known for a wide range of television and film work, both on-screen and as a popular voice actor for games.   Though he was already a jobbing actor, appearing in shows such as the acclaimed prison-based series Oz, it was the role of Cedric Daniels in The Wire that truly launched his career to a new level.  He would go on to appear in a multitude of series such as CSI: Miami, Numbers, Law and Order, The Blacklist, Castle, Lost, Fringe and more recently as political heavyweight Irvin Irving in multiple seasons of Bosch.

Several imminent projects include him reprising the role of Charon, the hotel manager in John Wick 4 (arriving 24th March) for which Reddick was currently doing media promotions and The Ballerina (the spin-off from John Wick) due to be released in late 2023 or early 2024.  He had also completed work on the remake of White Men Can’t Jump (out on 19th May) and Percy Jackson and the Olympians to be released on Disney+ later this year.

His voice-acting productions included The Vindicators, The Legend of Vox Machina, DuckTales, Rick and Morty and Castlevania and he was Sylens in the award-winning  Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West – with a storyline that might have carried over into future chapters of that mythology.

He is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddick and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick.
