The Butler does it. A Worthy trailer for a pre-Bat Alfred….

This July, another figure from the Batman universe gets an early-days focus as Epix launch 'Pennyworth'...

Just as FOX  finishes their run of Gotham, detailing the early days of  James Gordon and the metropolis that will one day be home to the Batman, another American platform is gearing up a pre-Dark Knight series that will focus on the younger years of another of the caped crusader’s supporting cast.

The Epix platform will launch Pennyworth on 28th July and the ten part series will trace the  (Cold) war-time efforts of agent Alfred Pennyworth and his first encounter with a billionaire named Thomas Wayne that will ultimately change his career and life. Jack Bannon is the young Pennyworth, defending queen and country, with much of the story taking place in London. Most recently, Sean Pertwee essayed a version of the character for Gotham, but the role has also been played by the likes of actors William Austin, Michael Gough, Michael Caine, Jeremy Irons, Alan Napier, Efrem Zimbalist Jnr., Ian Abercrombie and David McCallum.

Epix has just released a teaser trailer for the series which may well appeal to fans of the much-missed Agent Carter as it does for Batophiles…
